Vacancy Commercial Project Manager – De Waal


“de Wit Speciality Oils” is a family company that has been involved in seed cultivation and oil production since 1978 and is currently looking for a Commercial Project Manager. Their mission is to provide high-quality (organic) vegetable and marine oils to support the health and wellbeing of people and animals while following sustainable practices. “de Wit Speciality Oils” works closely with their customers and always puts a strong emphasis on innovation. Trends and developments are followed and these are adapted to the range accordingly. The role of Commercial Project Manager has been created because “de Wit Speciality Oils” is involved in a European project to help make the vegetable oil business more sustainable. In this project, “de Wit Speciality Oils” will test a new extraction methodology, which apart from being a sustainable alternative, will most likely yield other interesting ingredients. As a Commercial Project Manager, you will report directly to the General Manager. In this role, you will be responsible to manage all aspects of the project with the partners involved. Also, the Commercial Project Manager will be responsible to identify ingredients that might have a commercial value to roll out to clients. Furthermore, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Responsible for developing strategy, planning, budget and reports
  • Solving any organisational problems
  • Setting project priorities
  • Actively working to find new business opportunities within the project
  • Manage analysis of potential ingredient profitability, suggesting thresholds for new products
  • Supporting the new product development pipeline with clearly identified market/application
  • Working with sales and marketing to identify and develop commercial propositions for new ingredients


The ideal candidate has the following profile:

  • Bachelor in food science or similar field
  • Proven track record in project management within cross functional teams
  • Experience in the specialty food ingredients, with a preference for candidates who worked with protein powders of vegetable oils
  • Highly ambitious and willing to learn
  • Structured way of working and disciplined approach to initiatives
  • Strong commercial mindset with a drive to deliver results
  • Business level English, both verbal and written
  • Available and willing to travel internationally
