07 NOV ’22: For Nutreco – one of the global leaders in animal nutrition and aqua-feed, we are currently seeking a Regulatory Affairs Innovation Specialist to join their regulatory innovation team. Nutreco’s mission is to significantly contribute to meeting the rapid increase in worldwide demand for food. Function

In this role, you will guarantee the successful regulatory assessment of products and concepts in the innovation process and projects and ensure successful product registration and authorisation. Besides that, you will be acting as a Regulatory Specialist towards the business and management. You will lead the compilation of (scientific) regulatory dossiers for innovative products and initiates and follow-up on necessary scientific studies for regulatory dossiers.

Moreover, you will be in charge of the successful execution of the following activities:

  • Collaborate internally and work as the customer champion in cross-functional teams to build a strong understanding of regulation and registration requirements;
  • Help develop procedures for an area of the organisation, and monitor their implementation;
  • Responsible for safety evaluations and good quality toxicological studies and prepares the ‘go / no go decisions’ from the regulatory perspective in the stage-gate process in projects;
  • Work on complex administrative processes and databases to develop and test administrative procedures to ensure they are fully in line with organisational needs;
  • Identify, within the team, instances of non-compliance with the organisation’s policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these and escalating issues as appropriate.

Requirements

The organisation is looking for someone with strong analytical and communication skills. Also, fluent English, both written and verbal is a requirement and a strong chemical background is a pré. In order to carry out this role in a proper way, the perfect candidate needs to meet the following criteria:

  • MSc in sciences (e.g. veterinary medicine, animal production, chemistry, or nutrition) or J.D. in law combined with adequate technical knowledge;
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in the Animal Health or Animal Feed sector;
  • Understanding the role of regulations in innovation;
  • Expertise in feed, food and veterinary legislation, and product registration;
  • Proven experience with registering and/or authorising (new) ingredients and/or products;
  • Successful regulatory assessed products and concepts in the processes and projects.
